REDWING BLACKBIRD played The Yolk last summer and they were so wonderful that we jumped at the chance to have them back. This time they’ll be joined by fantastic acts OUT LIKE LAMBS and BOY WITHOUT GOD.

As always, The Yolk brings you great up-and-coming bands in an intimate setting — and, of course, there’s also our famously awesome rooftop to enjoy. So mark your calendars for the 23rd, and we’ll see you then!

SUMMER 2010 KICKOFF PARTY!!

THE YOLK reopens for summer 2010 with a relaxed summer afternoon of cheap drinks, music, sun and fun, featuring musical performances by THE PLEASANTS and KID INFINITE. As always, we bring you great up-and-coming bands in an intimate setting — and, of course, there’s also our famously awesome rooftop to enjoy.

Hi folks, a show just materialized at The Yolk for tomorrow night. I know you’re thinking this is ridiculously short notice, to which I respond by quoting Russian President Karpov from vastly underrated international crime thriller The Saint: “I proudly admit it!”

I really am proud — it’s an awesome lineup that runs the gamut from math jazz to soothing folk:

Redwing Blackbird
Soothing folk — seriously, it’s like invisible hands are rubbing those tired shoulders. (website)

Noxious Foxes

About The Yolk: “This past Saturday the Mims held another one of their quasi-famous shindigs, a gathering of open-minded kids willing to donate $5 at the door and be surprised by the line-up… Attendees climbed four flights of stairs and walked through the red-tint-lighted entryway to find themselves in the midst of an experimental monsoon of music… an eye-opening experience, an audible exhibit… I can’t wait for the next installment.”

About Samantha’s Confectionery: “I’ve met Sam herself and, let me tell you, she’s got it going on. She’s the best vegan baker in New York.”
